back whenever i rped the trio some years ago, one of my rp partners at the time gave me the fantastic idea of DK!Rommath & i am thinking heavy about it this morning.

a lot of my hcs have changed since then but I think I could still make it work tbh. Imagining like. He ends up partnering up with Sylvanas (not necessarily in replace of Nathanos but ends up being similar in status? if that makes sense) since he can relate to her at that time.

I think both lor & hal would be DEVASTATED to learn that rom died & then got turned for the purpose of the scourge. not only did they lose sylv but now also him too? lor def has a vendetta against arthas now.

okay let me go on a niche tangent real quick cause I'm gonna lose my goddamn mind, you know the trend of casting celebrities for roles that should have gone to voice actors? yeah it's stupid, we all hate it, I think we're in agreement here, but you know what's something about it that bothers me to not end? the fact that this marketing ploy completely loses all meaning once it crosses the border to a non English speaking country. this is a bit of a specific argument against it which is why, I guess, it never remotely corssed the mind of the geniuses that has the bright ideas of starting the tend to begin with, but casting Chris Pratt as Mario? yeah that's gonna completely lose any sort of relevance once it gets dubbed. "oh it's smart marketing because it's Chris Pratt" baby nobody knows who the fuck Chris Pratt is here. "he's been made famous because of parks and rec" nobody fucking watched that. if I mention him to someone in my country unless they're into marvel and know what I'm talking about chances are they'll have no fucking clue who the guy is. literally none of the names dropped in the Mario casting have any sort of relevance or importance outside of anglophonic countries, here the characters are just going to be voiced by actual voice actors that know what they're doing and the cool wow factor of having Jack Black as Bowser? completely gone. want a more practical example, hell the fucking Detective Pikachu plot twist of Ryan Reynolds being the dad all along? yeah that gets absolutely no reaction whatsoever when the movie is dubbed in another language. "no yeah it makes sense because Ryan voiced Pikachu" yeah it does, if you watch it in English, but in any other dub? that's just some random fucking dude. hell even I, knowing who Ryan is and that he was the original voice, had a good ten seconds of confusion at seeing him appear, literally not a single one of the celebrities casting makes any sort of sense once foreign dubbing comes in and it just shows exactly how pointless the whole thing is. something something translation is a process that necessarily requires some elements of the original text to end up being lost, sure, whatever, but if you build actual plot lines and characters around the specific celebrity voicing that one character the media will end up losing all sort of meaning once it gets dubbed. "Chris Evans is buzz lightyear" I'll fucking maim you

I HAVE SEVERAL EMOTIONS ABOUT HOW MI TREATS ITS CHARACTERS AND I’M TRYING TO WORK ON A PAPER ABOUT IT CAUSE SOME FILM ACADEMIC™  WROTE AN ENTIRE ASS ARTICLE ABOUT IT AND HE’S WRONG ABOUT EVERYTHING. 

More to the point: 

Marvel, as a very big-budget action superhero franchise, can do so much better for its characters and it’s whack that it just, dropped the fucking ball. I can’t of the top of my head think of something just cause its  2 am and I have lost rational thought, but yes Marvel can and should do better and There’s no excuse when a film franchise whose last two films began with no script ended up serving its characters better(for the most part, I have thoughts on Ilsa in Fallout but that's a post for another day) than whatever the fuck happened in Avenger’s Endgame
